1. Who we are

US Tax Asia (ustaxasia.com, "the Site," "we," "us") is an intake platform operated by Real Good Digital LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. We help connect Americans and green-card holders living in the Asia-Pacific region with qualified US tax preparation services. We are not a tax preparation firm and do not prepare returns ourselves.

2. Our partner firm

Inquiries submitted through this Site are fulfilled by Capital Tax Limited, a tax preparation firm incorporated in Hong Kong that specializes in US expat tax compliance for APAC-based clients. When you submit a form on this Site, your browser sends it directly to Capital Tax Limited, to an endpoint they operate. It does not pass through our servers. Capital Tax Limited is the data controller for what you submit, and is responsible for how it is stored, used, and deleted; we are the controller only for the separate records described in Section 4. This is disclosed to you at the point of form submission, in accordance with Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), Data Protection Principle 1(3), and US consent requirements.

3. Information we collect

The forms on this Site ask for the following. Because a submission posts straight to Capital Tax Limited (see Section 2), it is they who receive these answers, not us:

  • Your full name
  • A valid email address
  • A valid telephone number (including country code)
  • Country of residence
  • Nature of your US tax inquiry (as you describe it)

Your browser also attaches session context to that submission before sending it: the page on which you entered the Site, the referring site or search engine (including campaign/UTM parameters if you arrived through a tagged link), the page language, and how long the form took to complete. We use this to filter automated spam and to understand which pages lead to genuine inquiries, and it is transmitted to our partner firm together with your inquiry. We keep this context in your browser's local storage; it expires after about 30 minutes of inactivity and is not a tracking cookie.

We may also collect technical information automatically, such as IP address, browser type, referral source, and pages viewed, for site-performance and security purposes. We use Vercel Web Analytics (a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service operated by Vercel Inc.) to count pageviews and measure page performance. Vercel Web Analytics does not set cookies and does not collect personal identifiers. It processes aggregated, anonymized session data only.

With your consent, we also use Google Analytics (operated by Google LLC) to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics is off by default and runs only if you opt in through our consent banner; when enabled it sets analytics cookies and processes usage data such as pages viewed and approximate location. We use it for site analytics only, not advertising or cross-site tracking. You can decline, or withdraw consent at any time, using the banner.

4. How we use your information

Capital Tax Limited uses the form answers it receives to respond to your US tax services inquiry. We separately use the limited analytics, browser context, and attribution data described in this policy. Specifically:

  • Capital Tax Limited may contact you directly using the contact details you submit to its endpoint.
  • To use browser context and analytics to operate the Site, prevent spam, and measure which pages generate inquiries.
  • To maintain an attribution record, so that we can be paid for introductions under our publisher agreement with Capital Tax Limited. That record is a lead identifier, the date, the site and page the inquiry came from, and its commercial status and amounts. It carries no name, email address or telephone number.

We do not sell personal information under our control. The form answers are sent directly to Capital Tax Limited; our separate analytics and attribution records are used only for the purposes described in this policy.

5. Contact consent for phone and email (US)

By checking the consent box on our forms, you authorize Capital Tax Limited to contact you at the phone number and email address you provided, by manual phone call or email, for the sole purpose of responding to your US tax services inquiry. Capital Tax Limited does not use automated dialing systems, prerecorded messages, or automated SMS programs.

Your consent is not required as a condition of any purchase or service. You can withdraw consent or opt out of further contact at any time by emailing us at the address in Section 12 below.

6. CAN-SPAM and email communications (US)

Email communications from us or from Capital Tax Limited relating to your inquiry are transactional in nature and comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. Each email includes a method to opt out of further non-transactional email, which we will honor within ten (10) business days of receipt.

7. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) gives you additional rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share about you in the Site data we control; Capital Tax Limited handles requests about the form answers it receives.
  • Right to delete the personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the CPRA, so this right is satisfied by default.
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To exercise rights concerning Site analytics or attribution data, contact us using Section 12. Contact Capital Tax Limited about the form answers it receives.

8. Hong Kong residents (PCPD / Cap. 486)

Because our partner firm is based in Hong Kong, the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) applies to the handling of your data on their side, and Capital Tax Limited is responsible for meeting it. Your form submission reaches them directly rather than through us, as described in Section 2, so there is no onward transfer by us for it to cover.

9. GDPR and UK GDPR residents

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.

Capital Tax Limited's processing of the form answers is disclosed at the point of submission and is governed by its role as the recipient and controller of that form data. Our separate processing of limited technical and attribution data is described below; where consent is required, you may withdraw it at any time.

We separately process limited technical data (IP address, browser type, referral source) under legitimate interest for site security, fraud prevention, and operational integrity; this processing does not involve your form submissions.

To exercise a right concerning form answers, contact Capital Tax Limited. For Site analytics or attribution data, contact us using Section 12. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU or UK country of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place where you believe the issue arose. In the United Kingdom that authority is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). You do not have to contact us first, though we would rather have the chance to put something right.

10. Data retention

We retain our separate attribution and operational records for as long as necessary to operate the Site and account for introductions, typically the first 12 months after your inquiry, plus a further 12-month tail after any termination of that agreement. After that period, records are deleted or anonymized. You may request earlier deletion subject to the rights described above.

11. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect information in transit (TLS encryption) and at rest. Form submissions are sent directly from your browser to an endpoint operated by Capital Tax Limited (a Vercel Edge Function at intake.expattax.com) and are stored in Capital Tax Limited's own systems. They do not pass through our servers. Vercel, Inc. provides the underlying infrastructure for that endpoint. Despite our efforts, no transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Contact us about privacy

For any question about this policy, to exercise your rights described above, or to report a privacy concern, email us at:

[email protected]

You may also use this address for a request concerning form answers; we will route that request to Capital Tax Limited, the controller for those answers.

We respond within 30 days for CCPA/GDPR requests and within 10 business days for CAN-SPAM opt-out requests.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. For material changes affecting your rights or how we use your information, we will provide prominent notice on the Site before changes take effect.

14. Cookies

We use necessary cookies and local storage for security, form state, and to remember your consent choice. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics cookies to measure how visitors use the Site. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can accept or decline analytics cookies at any time using our consent banner.
